What is the difference between the Sealion 5 and Sealion 6 DM-i?
The 5 is smaller and cheaper, with a 12.96 kWh battery and 71 km of NEDC electric range against the 6's 18.3 kWh and 105 km. The 6 also publishes a combined system output of 217 hp; BYD Philippines does not publish one for the 5, which is why we show only its drive-motor figure.
Is the Sealion 5 DM-i a full electric car?
No. It is a plug-in hybrid: it drives electrically for a claimed 71 km on NEDC, then a 1.5-litre petrol generator takes over. You can charge it, but you never have to.
