Varies by trim and factory. Rear-drive Standard versions commonly use LFP; Long Range and Performance use nickel-based cells. LFP is happier being charged to 100% routinely; nickel-based packs generally prefer an 80% daily ceiling.

Heavy reliance on DC fast charging above 100 kW pushes that to as much as 3.0% per year; hot climates add about 0.4 points annually. Recurrent reports a 0.3% battery replacement rate across 2022-and-newer EVs.
After-sales and service network
Direct sales and service rather than a franchised dealer network. The practical question is distance to the nearest Tesla service centre, which differs sharply between markets — worth confirming before purchase. Supercharger access remains the strongest part of the ownership package where the network exists.
